One Response to “Obama’s Speech on Race”

  1. John Rove says:

This speech was a very good way to handle the Reverend Wright contraversy, while at the same time blunting all the other attacks. Sinve the beginning of the Obama campaign one of the major lines of attack was to remind people he is black. That is the whole point of the “Barack the magic negro” song that Rush Limbaugh keeps playing. In certain circles mostly people over 60 that is effective. In this speech Obama admits that, yes, he is in fact black and doesn’t ask anyone to ignore it.
It is sort of like what Bill Clinton used to do where he would both answer the question but get to the hidden meaning of the question as well.
